Thursday
11th March 2010.
Canon Europe announced on Thursday the launch of 3 new models at its European
Large Format Partner conference in Lisbon.
The new models are the Canon IPF6300, the Canon IPF6350 and the Canon
IPF8300. These new models employ a new 12-colour Lucia EX inkset that
reduces bronzing, has smoother gradations, more detail in darker print
areas and greater scratch resistance.
The IPF8300, IPF6300 and IPF6350 are supplied with new versions of Canon's
Photoshop Plug-in, DPP plug in and support for the Adobe CMM (Colour Management
Module). Using the Photoshop Plug-in, each new model allows 16-bit RGB
images edited in Photoshop to be sent directly to the imagePROGRAF printers,
preserving smooth continuous gradation.
Copytech
Director Kevin Kelleher saw the printers for the first time in
Lisbon and was immediately impressed by the amazing image quality.
"These machines look set to outperform all other offerings in the
Graphic & Fine Arts market. The output is simply stunning. Canon
already has the Lion's share of the Digital SLR market and with a straight
through RGB workflow from shoot to print, along with a new Canon inkset,
low running cost and great tools, Canon has raised the bar again in
the aqueous inkjet market. I think this will be by far our biggest seller
in the Photography and Fine Art markets."
